Nendoroid Black Widow - They're all here!

Well I'm a firm believer in doing things the right away when at all possible. That's basically how I ended up orderings Deluxe versions of the only Black Widow releases I'm aware of - Endgame and the Solo Movie. What I didn't expect that is that delays would result in the both arriving at the same time... months after everyone else got theirs.

But some may be asking... what the hell is a Nendoroid?

Well, the good folks at Good Smile Company have several product lines which include Figma, a line that has multiple entries on this blog. Nendoroid is yet another line, where the emphasis is on cute. Each of these figures is slightly over 3 inches tall, and feature the same proportions as your typical toddler/junior kindergartener. Paint and detailing top notch, but clearly its meant to be on the simpler side, even compared to your typical Figma/Figuart.

There's very seldom any Build Quality issues, as the parts all use the same joint types and sizes, which means Good Smile has had lots of practice making them, and that basically you can mix and match parts betweens the various figures relatively easily, though I've noticed there are some figures with one of kind face plates, like the Overwatch stuff.

The overall offering hasn't really evolved since the lines inception, but it seems that they've at least given the figures basic articulation now (ankles, knees, hips with some thigh twist, waist, standard shoulders, elbows, rotating wrists, and basic head movement) as opposed to back in the day when you needed to swap out limbs to get a different pose.

One thing that hasn't changed, however, is the reliance on a stand for these figures. This has been a main characteristic of the line and I don't seen it changing any time soon.

As with most action figures, the Deluxe versions of figures always come with one of kind things that make you willingly give up your money. The Endgame set comes with both standard and Quantum Suit bodies, an extra smiling face plate, pair of batons and pistons, extra hands for weapons gripping.

The extra parts allow you to recreate her death scene with Hawkeye (played by Ironman), including a Vormir base and a hand for Hawkeye that contains the Soul Stone.

The Movie set is a lot more straight forward - the Deluxe is the only way to get the Snowsuit body and the side braided hair, as well as Widow's Bite effects and her standard batons. So I guess as far as Deluxe add-ins go, the Movie version is better as it doesn't require you to have another Nendoroid to actually use them.

I just wish I had an extra Endgame Widow head so I can display the Quantum Suit as well.

So that's about it for this entry - a quick look at some cute figures of my favourite Avenger. I mean, maybe I'll see her again someday, but given the current ScarJo X Disney legal catfight, well I highly doubt it.

Until then, thanks for all the fond memories, Nat. RIP
