A little while back, I took a look at Ronin from the Falslander line. As a posing figure, Ronin left much to be desired., but it certainly looked really cool. Well, it should not come as a surprise that there are more entries into this series, all of which are actually quite the pain to get a hold of. So, when an opportunity shows up on Facebook Marketplace, well I jump on it.
Figma 491: Lanze Reiter. She's a bit of a challenge to find on the open market these days, so I was quite fortunate to actually get my hands on this one for $80 CAD.

Like with Ronin, Lanze Reiter comes with parts to make a light armoured mode, though it's not as drastic as with Ronin. There's basically no real bulk to deal with You're swapping out legs, and you can do armoured, unarmoured, or a combination of the two. The armoured right leg also has a sheathe for the dagger
Lanze Reiter features some sort of high tech backpack, complete with cables. It doesn't do anything but it does look pretty cool. There's some nice detailing on the armour pieces as well, and as an added bonus Lanze Reiter is bustier than Ronin.
Faceplates are nice, but what is really nice about this set is the option to display with armoured visor all the way down, up, or off completely, depending on which piece you use.
Articulation wise, Lanze Reiter features a very general Figma body , with the only real extra being the pull down hips. You're going to get a very typical posing experience with this figure, though again, perhaps slightly better because there's no real bulk to get in the way of range of motion. Overall, you're not exactly getting crazy amounts of
Paint wise, there's no real complaints. Is this the most complex Figma I've ever seen? Not by any stretch of the imagination. But there are some small details on the figure, and overall the paint work is very crisp and clean, along with any decal work.
Build Quality is a bit of a pain. So, this figure is prone to falling apart if you breathe on it funny. The two silver pieces on the rib cage, the sheath, and the dagger handle are the biggest culprits, and some of these pieces are a pain to find if they drop on the floor, so plan accordingly when it comes to posing. My figures upper torso also kept separating from the waist piece, but it seems a bit of hot water treatment can and will address this issue.
Another solid entry into the Figma line up, albeit one that is frustrating as it pertains to parts that can randomly fall off. A very strong shelf presence, though you'll likely want to leave her in museum poses as her frame lends to graceful, non dynamic poses in my opinion, but as always you mileage may vary.
