The Need For Speed!

So after a few weeks of hunting, I was able to find a slightly beaten up Override from Walmart. While this figure is part of the Velocitron subseries of Legacy, I don't think the figure is an exclusive as it doesn't say that at on the website.

Still, it's nice to put that behind me, as restocking at stores around here are highly unpredictable.

Here she is in all her glory. In case it wasn't obvious, Override is tiny for a Voyager, and honestly most of the box is empty space. Clearly an example of making a box bigger for sake of justifying the price increase, as well as loss prevention I suppose. There are no other hidden effects - you get the main figure and its weapon.

While the figure is smaller than one would like, at least the toy looks sharp. Override, to be fair, probably was one of the slickest looking vehicles in the Cybertron series. While there are some paint applications that are missing, the overall vehicle appearance is quite the improvement from the first toy. Proportions aren't as blocky, and the overall vehicle is much sleeker, probably helped by the fact there was no longer a Cyber Planet Key gimmick to work into it.

While the size is underwhelming, the transformation sequence itself isn't too bad, and is certainly close to what you'd expect from a Voyager. Bot mode itself is again much more streamline as compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the overall look and aesthetics. Articulation is pretty much what you'd expect from a well made Mainline figure, including thigh swivel and ankle tilts, though unfortunately due to the backpack, there is very little waist articulation. A shame, as a fully functional waist is actually part of the transformation process.

There's a slight modification you can do to give the figure some slight ab crunch, though I'm not entirely certain its worth the trouble.

As with most other Transformers figures, you can interchange weaponry with most other figures... I say most because Override has closed fists, which prevents the use of weaponry with oddly shaped handles like Laser Prime/Scourge sword.

A nice enough figure if you can find it. Sleek and aesthetically pleasing. Hopefully it won't be an exclusive in your area, and will be easily available.
