Time to Raise a Little Hell....

Well, it's almost Christmas, and the world is now getting familiar with the name Omicron, which sounds like some sort of Demon or a mysterious Transformer. Good a time as any, I suppose, to take a look a this figure, the Executive Replicas 1/6 Sariah: Goddess of War.

Like the box says, Sariah is the Goddess of War in the world of the Undying Queen, a series by ARH ComiX. I've seen images of the other characters in figure form, but I can't find anything from a comic scan or similar source. Closest would be an unpainted statue of this character. So basically, this blurb and the box art are as much background detail as I have. What I do know, however, is that there are two versions of this figure, the full strength 1/6, and the 1/12. The 1/12, being aimed at a lower price point, doesn't have the awesome skull throne and base, which is understandable. What was really strange, however, was the fact that the 1/12 head was completely different, featuring red hair and no styled hair. Combine that with the lack of source material to compare to, and I have no clue which one is actually accurate. Furthermore, the 1/12 face was very generic looking, so overall I'm glad I didn't bite and had the opportunity to get this one instead.

Contents of the set are as follows:

- 1 x TBLeague Body (S22/23?)

- 6 x Posing/Gripping Hands (Gripping, Open Palm, Trigger Hands)

- 1 x Armour Set (Lower Leg Armour, Waist Guard, Body Armour, Skull Pauldrons, Bicep Armlets, Gauntlets, Face Guard, Cape with Mantle)

- 1 x Sword

- 1 x Shield

- 1 x Skull Throne

- 1 x Base

I'm told that Skull Throne and Base shipped separately from the main figure box due to the giant size of the pieces. Certainly makes sense seeing how there was no way they would be able to squeeze those into the main figure box.

While I'm not familiar with the art, if I were the Goddess of War, I certainly would dress in a fashion that says I'm awesome, adorning myself with the skulls of my enemies and of course some badass horns and a cape. Oh and fuzzy underwear.. which naturally makes you more loveable. I adore the overall colour scheme of the outfit, which again goes well with Sariah's Hellspawn origins. I'm 99% certain that this uses the S22/23 body, which I stared at for almost a year as I couldn't quite get a Widow custom to work with it properly. It's an athletic body, so muscle tone is present, as are the relatively slim proportions and medium size bust, but it's really annoying how like most other bodies, this one skipped leg day. Overall, though, based on the statue render, it appears this body is a pretty good match.

While the tone of the legs isn't that great, this body does have an exceptionally well defined ass, which actually makes finding pants that fit it kind of a challenge.

Based on the visual of the statue, it appears that the face is too wide, as the jaw appears to be too shallow. and wide. Even without the reference, the overall facial shape does look kind of odd. The facial expression can also throw some photos off, though this is not limited to Sariah. Having said that, this does appear to have some sort of unique face, not just a customized generic one. Overall, there's a better sense of life in this face than most of the others I've seen, especially when she's got her face guard on.

Unsurprisingly, the underlying TBLeague body allows you to do some fun poses with Sariah. Full range of the body can be utilized, including the neck area as Sariah features rooted hair, though one needs to be aware that due to the rigidity of the body armour, arching the back too much could result in a wardrobe malfunction. There's also the usual loss of realism when the body is contorted in extreme ways. Ankles allow for moderate amounts of articulation - not as much as Dawn, but considering this figure doesn't have loose ankles, I'll live with the reduce range of motion.

Paint wise, the various armour and hard plastic pieces are very nicely done. Overall, paint applications are crisply done. Overspray is not an issue, even on the finer aspects of the these pieces. I do see some slight masking issues on the gold trim, but overall nothing too distracting visually. Facial detailing is sharp as well, with the skin tone of the head and hands slightly mismatched from the body itself.

Build quality wise, the body is generally well done, though I've noticed that some bodies seem to come out nicer from a QC perspective. I noticed some surface blemishes on this one, and an overall unpolished skin texture for the back of the legs. But in terms of product stability, nothing to worry about. Armour parts are fairly well done, though you can make out seam lines and areas requiring sanding. From a design perspective, maybe a slightly less rigid plastic would have made getting the face guard to stay on a bit easier. In terms of tolerances, all hands pop off and on fairly easily, and bless their hearts, the sword hilt and handle of the shield are actually sized such that the included hands can hold them. Having said that, you still have the same three generic pairs of hands that Dawn came with, albeit with paint fingernails.

Overall, while the aesthetics may change slightly, Sariah is an example of the general formula used for making these figure, specifically having various armour pieces cover strategic areas of the body. It's really the character design itself that makes the figure appealing and I'd say Sariah makes the cut. Like the Valkyries Skarah and Tariah, the choice of colours also help to make the figure pop. The better than average facial detailing/head sculpt helps to strengthen the overall finished product.

If these sort of figures are your thing, I would imagine she's already in your collection. Well that's about it for here. But come back soon - there's still a few more TBLeague figures to go through.
